Many of you have asked me for a brief biography about my background and how I got into the adult industry. I had a hard time writing this because I'm not egotistical and didn't want to sound that way. Plus, I really didn't know what people wanted to know about me. So, here are some interesting Christi Lake Factoids for you:

I grew up in Michigan and Minnesota. I worked at a video store and in a factory after high school. Factory life was boring and the chemicals we used were dangerous to my health, so one night while at a local Adult club, I took a dare and entered the club's amateur contest. It was so much fun, I quit my job and went to work as a house dancer. During this time, I explored the Swinging Lifestyle. Several months later while at a Swinger's Convention, a gentleman came up to me and after talking for a while, asked if I was interested in doing magazine layouts. I was flown to New York (along with my girlfriend, Sheena) and did 2 shoots in a day. It was a long day and hard work, but also a lot of fun. After that, the magazine asked me to sign in their booth at CES. I was surprised by people walking up to me at the convention, handing me their business cards asking me to be in their movies. That was a big step; one I hadn't really thought about before. I went home to Minnesota and after several day's thinking it over, I decided to go for it.

I came to Los Angeles in late 1995 with the idea that I'd do a few movies just to see what it was like. If I didn't enjoy it, I'd return to Minnesota knowing that at least I tried. After my first 3 movies, I was hooked. Sure, I loved the sex, but I also found I loved the whole process of making movies, from lighting and sets, down to which camera angle looked best.

I decided early on that I wanted to produce movies as well as act in them, so I formed DRIPPING WET PIX and quickly shot my first two movies. SOUTHERN COMFORT, PART I AND II were loosely based on Tennessee Williams' CAT ON A HOT TIN ROOF, but there the similiarity ends. As many of you know, I had to change the title of those movies after a threatened lawsuit from the Southern Comfort Liquor Company; they're now titled SEX IN THE DEEP SOUTH and SEX SOUTHERN STYLE. I started shooting DIRECTOR'S WET DREAMS and HOLLYWOOD HOOKERS almost as soon as SOUTHERN COMFORT hit the store shelves. I was a very busy girl! I guess it paid off because DIRECTOR'S WETDREAMS was nominated for "Best Featurette" by AVN Magazine in 1997 and I was nominated for "Best Actress". Even though I didn't win, it was an awesome achievement for someone who had only been in the business for less than a year. After a few years of producing, I decided I prefered being an Actress and sold the rights to my titles to VCA (keeping shared internet rights for my website). But, I still continue to shoot scenes with fans. (keep reading)

Many people, critics and fans alike, say my main claim to porn fame is my series, FAN FUXXX. I came up with the idea for the series because my Fans continually asked me, “How can I get in the Business?” Each movie would feature me (and sometimes another Star) having sex with real fans. I'd choose them from the applications mailed in from around the world and then pick fans to shoot them for the movie. Each fan is screened carefully to make sure they had never been in a movie before and that they have a current HIV and STD test. The first FAN FUXXX was released in 1996 and was an immediate hit. Volumes 2, 3 and 4 quickly followed. Applications from fans wanting to be in the series grew from 10 a month to over 200. The series was so popular it was nominated in 1998 for an AVN Award in the "Best Pro-Am Series" category and I received a "Best Female Performer" nomination as well.

I have also been in Mainstream media such as THE HOWARD STERN SHOW, an episode of HBO’s SIX FEET UNDER (Season 2) and the movie ORGAZMO (produced by the creators of South Park). I am also a two time F.O.X.E. (Fans Of X-rated Entertainment), “Fan Favorite Award” winner. I also have a Signature line of toys with Las Vegas Novelties. I still do movies for other companies when the opportunity comes up. But, FAN FUXXX is my way of giving something back to the fans; to let them see what it's really like having sex for the camera. Yes, it's fun, but it's also HARD WORK. I know a lot of fans, that I have shot, will tell you the same. At the same time, it was the fulfillment of one of their life's fantasies and something they will always remember. That's what makes it all worthwhile for me - giving memories and pleasure to my fans. It's because of all you enthusiastic fans out there the series has become wildly popular and successful. In fact, FAN FUXXX 7 (this is the last one to be released on VHS & DVD) has been getting rave reviews. No one else is doing anything close to it. Since I started the series back in 1996, many other people have copied the idea but I can modestly say there is only one CHRISTI LAKE'S FAN FUXXX. And, I promise I will keep shooting scenes with my fans to put in my Member's section, AREA 69, as long as you want to see them.
